Be an extra in a Bollywood film

Producers of Bollywood film, Azhar, are searching for extras to appear in crowd scenes when filming takes place at The 3aaa County Ground at the end of this week.  

This is your chance to appear in an international film being filmed right on your doorstep, with extras required on Friday 28 August, from 4pm to 8pm.

The film, directed by Tony D’Souza, is a biopic about the life of India cricket great Mohammad Azharuddin, who enjoyed spells with Derbyshire in 1991 and 1994.

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi has been cast in the lead role and will be in the city, along with 130 other cast members and crew for the four days of filming.

Filming will take place from Wednesday 26 to Saturday 29 August, with the film due to be released in May 2016.

Commercial Director, Ryan Duckett said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to come together and potentially appear in an international film that is being filmed here in Derby.

“Emraan Hashmi, a star of Bollywood, will play the lead role, while 130 cast and crew members will also be spending the week in the city and the economic benefits that brings.”
