The Cricket Derbyshire Bookshop will be selling rare Derbyshire County Cricket Club memorabilia during the Leicestershire fixture at The 3aaa County Ground next week.

The Bookshop, who have already raised over £4,000 this season, will be selling a number of collectable Derbyshire memorabilia including a bat signed by the entire Derbyshire and Sussex teams from the 1991 fixture, a rare copy of the Club’s centenary book from 1970 and a collection of Wisden Almanacks from 1959 to 1964.

Also on display will be a card signed by 14 Derbyshire County Cricket Club greats from the Derek Morgan benefit fixture as well as numerous programmes from cup finals.

The Bookshop, which will be open each day during the lunch and tea intervals, will also be open specially from the start of play on Tuesday, Day One versus Leicestershire, to allow collectors a chance to get in early to get that item they have been searching for.

The Bookshop is run by a team of volunteers, led by Phil Kirby, with all proceeds going towards the development of young players and helping to fund summer contracts for Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby graduates.

This year, summer contracts were given to three Academy graduates in Will Davis, Harry White and Adam Wheatcroft, with Davis and White making their first-class debuts against Australia in the Bell & Co Tourist Fixture at Derby in July.

Kirby said: “We hope that the Leicestershire fixture will round off a fantastic year where already over £4,000 has been taken and handed over to the Club to help engage yet more young cricketers and aid their developments.

“Any supporters with spare books or cricket memorabilia are encouraged to drop them into the bookshop and help maintain the flow of stock after a highly successful year.”

Leicestershire arrive at The 3aaa County Ground on Tuesday 22 September for the start of the final LV= County Championship fixture of 2015. Supporters can save £4 by purchasing tickets in advance.
