Wayne Madsen is calling on his side to deliver a complete performance as they seek victory in the final LV= County Championship fixture of 2015 versus Leicestershire; starting on Tuesday.

Derbyshire welcome neighbours Leicestershire to The 3aaa County Ground next week.  Madsen, who has scored 854 runs this year at an average of 44.95 including two centuries, wants to end the campaign well and believes being more consistent will be key to his side’s success.

“We have done certain things well in games but to win four-day games you have to be consistent throughout and put in complete performances,” said Madsen.

“We’ve got to play better as a team and we need to be more consistent in everything we do. We need to score big first-innings runs which is crucial when you want to win games.

“I think in our last game we were in quite a decent position when Essex were 190-5 and then they had a good partnership and took it away from us. That has happened far too often.

“There might be one or two changes for the Leicestershire game due to injuries. We will look at the squad and there might be an opportunity to potentially look at one or two different faces.

Madsen added: “Being more ruthless is the key for us. There have been six or seven games this season where we can look back and think we should have won that game.

“The biggest disappointment this year is that there has been too many soft losses and we will be looking to rectify that. Going forward we need to grab those moments and take advantage of good situations that we get ourselves into.

“We have to play well for all four days against Leicestershire and show that we are learning from the mistakes we have made. Hopefully we can end the season with a win and give our supporters something to shout about.”

Leicestershire arrive at The 3aaa County Ground on Tuesday 22 September for the start of the final LV= County Championship fixture of 2015. Supporters can save £4 by purchasing tickets in advance.
