Tony Palladino says he is delighted to be returning to Abu Dhabi after the Club announced plans for the 2016 Briggs of Burton Pre-Season Tour.
The squad will fly to Abu Dhabi on Monday 7 March and will spend 10 days based at the state-of-the-art Test venue, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium complex, before returning on Thursday 17 March.
Derbyshire will compete in both red and white ball action against first-class opposition as Abu Dhabi, for the third year running, provides a warm weather backdrop for the county’s pre-season preparations ahead of the 2016 campaign.

Palladino believes Abu Dhabi will once again be ideal preparation as the Club looks to flourish in all formats next season.
“Pre-season tours are always brilliant to go on, all the guys really enjoy the warm-weather training so it is fantastic to be going back to Abu Dhabi,” said Palladino.
“By that time of the year the lads are champing at the bit to get out in the middle, we will have been indoors all winter so the lads will be excited about getting outside and playing some cricket before the season starts.
“The facilities are fantastic over there, it is not quite what we will be experiencing when we get back to England but it is just what we need at that time of the year.
“We will be playing and training on good surfaces and it is a great opportunity for the batters to go and hit a lot of balls, while the bowlers can get some overs in their legs.”
Palladino says next season is a big one for the team and believes they have the bowling armoury to succeed.
“There is an opportunity for several bowlers to step up and take wickets on a regular basis,” Palladino added.
“It’s not a case of someone coming in and taking 70 or 80 wickets, but if people can all chip in and add another 15-20 wickets to their game then it will help us win more cricket matches.
“Andy Carter and Tom Milnes have come in, they are two quality bowlers as well so we’ve got plenty of firepower to hopefully make a difference.
“Hopefully I will be able to take a few more wickets and play my part but I’m sure all of the other lads will be wanting to do that as well.”
