Wes Durston says its a ‘huge honour’ to be asked to captain Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on their tour of South Africa this winter.
The MCC will play five 50-over fixtures and one two-day match during a two-week period, from December 27 to January 10, and get the chance to play on Test grounds at Durban and Cape Town.
Durston, who was named as Derbyshire’s NatWest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup Player of the Year in 2015, will lead a number of experienced county cricketers including Owais Shah (Hampshire), Neil Dexter (Leicestershire) and Chris Wright (Warwickshire).
