Derbyshire first team squad will get the opportunity to gain event operations experience by helping the Derbyshire Experience team deliver Christmas Parties this weekend.

Members of the first team squad and coaching staff will be helping the Club’s in-house catering and events team as they prepare for a busy weekend of Christmas Parties at The 3aaa County Ground.

The squad will receive event operations training before helping the Derbyshire Experience team prepare rooms and during the dinner service, with 1,200 guests expected at the ground across Friday and Saturday.

Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “When I took on this role, I wanted the lads to develop as individuals and not just as cricketers – and there has been some evidence of that over the last couple of years.

“This is another example of how they can develop and learn something new, while also giving something back to the off-field staff who work tirelessly to make this Club tick all year round.

“The lads will get training and gain experience, while also getting the opportunity to watch and help organise an event of this scale.

“It’s a long winter and we need to plan properly. I hope all the lads will take something away from this opportunity.”
