Wes Durston hit a blistering 73, including six sixes in an over, on a good opening day for Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in their two-day match versus Western Province Cricket Association.
Durston, who is captaining the MCC during their tour of South Africa, smashed four fours and eight sixes to hit 73 off just 31 balls in his side’s 304-6 off 50 overs.
Western Province CA has earlier been dismissed for 95, with Charlie Morris (4-20) claiming four wickets and Chris Jordan (2-17) and Matt Hunn (2-38) picking up two apiece.
The hosts ended the opening day on 38-2, still trailing by 171 runs.
