Shiv Thakor rounded off a successful Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tour of Oman and Bahrain with a brisk half-century in a thrilling last match.
Playing in a 40-over match, the MCC racked up 279-9 from their allotted overs, thanks in no small part to the exploits of Thakor, before a lower order fightback by their opponents, Awali All Stars, saw the match finish in a tie.
The all-rounder has enjoyed a successful tour with the MCC and finished it off in style with fifties in both of the tourists’ final two fixtures. Thakor will now return to the UK and will rejoin the Derbyshire squad at The 3aaa County Ground on Monday 22 February.
