Tom Taylor has signed a one-year contract extension with Derbyshire, committing him to the Club until the end of 2017.
The promising fast bowler, who burst into the first team in 2014, has played 15 first-class fixtures for the county, claiming 43 wickets and with career-best figures of 6-61.
His performances earned the 21-year-old a place on the Potential England Performance Programme which toured South Africa this winter and included a stint with the England ODI squad in January.
Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “Tom is an exciting talent who has already shown the ability to win games for Derbyshire – and we must remember he’s still only 21.
“He has already been recognised by England and he continues to make big strides, with both bat and ball.
“He now has a big summer ahead and we hope he can continue to contribute to winning games for the Club.”
Taylor added: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal and commit to Derbyshire. We have an exciting squad and I hope I can continue to improve and play a leading role as we push for success.”
