Neil Broom is set to make his first appearance for Derbyshire after being named in a 13-man squad to face Durham MCCU in a three-day fixture at The 3aaa County Ground, beginning on Monday 11 April.
The New Zealander, who is to play for the Club for the entire season via a UK Passport, is set to make his first outing alongside pace bowler Andy Carter, who signed from Nottinghamshire during the winter, who is also in the matchday squad.
Broom’s compatriot, Hamish Rutherford, is unavailable for selection having only arrived in the country on Friday, but is in line to play against Gloucestershire in Derbyshire’s first Specsavers County Championship match of the season on Sunday 17 April.
Derbyshire’s squad also includes Tom Milnes, who signed on a permanent deal from Warwickshire in the winter, Billy Godleman, playing in his first game since being named red-ball Captain, and Tom Poynton as wicketkeeper.
