Billy Godleman spoke to DerbyshireTV after the news that he will miss the first few games of the new Specsavers County Championship season through injury.

Godleman, who was named four-day Captain last month, has sustained a small fracture in his thumb that he says will see him out of action for between three and five weeks.

Overseas batsman, and Vice-Captain, Hamish Rutherford will lead the side in Godleman’s absence. Rutherford has experience captaining the side after leading Otago during the 2015/16 season in New Zealand.
