It’s just seven days until Derbyshire Falcons host their opening home NatWest T20 Blast fixture of the season; versus Leicestershire Foxes on Friday 3 June.
Today, we chat to our new number seven, Andy Carter. The tall paceman joined the Falcons from Notts Outlaws during the winter and is beginning his first summer with the Club.
“Obviously we are trying to win every game of Twenty20 cricket,” he said. “There is no point in putting a lid on anything but we just want to perform to our best ability and see where it takes us. From what I’ve seen, we have the talent and skill to do well.
“I always enjoyed playing for Notts in the big local derbies against Derbyshire. The atmosphere is one which I relish and I don’t think it will be any different now as a Derbyshire player.
“Those games are the ones in which you thrive and I am already looking forward to coming up against my old teammates.”
He added: “I feel like I have settled in very well to life here at Derbyshire. I am enjoying working with the lads and getting down to business.
“We’ve been working hard to ensure we have a good Twenty20 season – and I want to contribute to use winning games. It’s about making sure that I keep giving 100% trying to perform for the Club.”
