Wes Durston says the NatWest T20 Blast competition has come at the right time and the lads are determined to make a good start.
The Falcons begin their new campaign away at Lancashire Lightning on Saturday (2.30pm start) and Graeme Welch has named a 13-man squad, which includes New Zealand trio Jimmy Neesham, Hamish Rutherford and Neil Broom.
Durston said: “All the lads are looking forward to getting started. I think the way the season has started so far the NatWest T20 Blast has come at a very good time for us.
“We’ve had some good practice and on Thursday we had a Second XI game at Long Marston against a Unicorns team. It was a decent run out and we won the game nicely. The batters got some time out in the middle and the bowlers got some overs so we’re ready for Saturday.”
