Shiv Thakor has been named Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for May.
For the second time this season supporters have been able to vote for their Player of the Month, sponsored by the Club’s Official Family Partners, Showcase Cinema de Lux.
The vote was held on our official twitter page, @DerbyshireCCC, and the all-rounder was named the winner with 76% of the vote.
During May, the 22-year-old secured career-best bowling figures and struck his maiden century for Derbyshire, hitting 130 against Kent at Derby before taking 5-63 in the same match.
In total, he notched up 392 first-class runs during the month, averaging 78 and also claiming 15 Specsavers County Championship wickets and two in the NatWest T20 Blast.
Chesney Hughes, who hit 329 first-class runs in May and is the top run scorer in Division Two with 581 runs, finished second with 17%. Billy Godleman was third with 7%.
Derbyshire are back in NatWest T20 Blast action at The 3aaa County Ground on Friday 17 July when they welcome Birmingham Bears. Supporters can save 20% by purchasing their tickets in advance.
