Supporters can now vote for their Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for May.
Each month this season, supporters will be able to vote for their Player of the Month, in association with Showcase Cinema de Lux, via the Club’s official Twitter account.
During the month of May, Derbyshire competed in five Specsavers County Championship fixtures and two NatWest T20 Blast fixtures, which included a dominant nine-wicket win against holders Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.
Hughes hit 329 first-class runs in May at an average of 47, and he remains the leading run scorer in Division Two with 581 runs. The opening batsman continued his good form in May, hitting an unbeaten century at Northamptonshire, before securing successive unbeaten half-centuries in the following two four-day fixtures. The 25-year-old also hit 46 in his only innings in the NatWest T20 Blast versus Northants Steelbacks.
Having missed the first two fixtures of the season due to injury, Derbyshire’s four-day Captain has begun his season by hitting 360 first-class runs in his first five fixtures, at an average of 36.
The all-rounder hit his maiden century for Derbyshire and secured career-best bowling figures in May. The 22-year-old hit 130 versus Kent at Derby, before securing best figures of 5-63 in the same first-class match. In total, Thakor scored 392 first-class runs at an average of 78.4 and claimed 15 Championship wickets. He has also claimed two wickets in the NatWest T20 Blast.
