Supporters can now vote for the Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for the month of July.

Each month this season, supporters can cast their vote for their Player of the Month by visiting the Club’s official Twitter account.

We’ve selected three nominees; opening batsmen Ben Slater and Billy Godleman, as well as overseas big-hitter Hamish Rutherford. All three enjoyed a successful July, now supporters can vote for their Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month.

Player of the Month: July Nominees

Ben Slater

Slater continued his fine One-Day form during July, scoring his second and third List A centuries in the fixtures versus Sri Lanka A and Northamptonshire.

The 24-year-old also top-scored for the county in the fixture versus Notts Outlaws at Welbeck with a well-made half-century in testing times.

In total, Slater hit 330 runs in his four matches in July at an average of 110.

Billy Godleman

For the second month in a row, four-day skipper has been named as one of the nominees after enjoying another fruitful month with the bat.

The skipper hit a century in the county’s only first-class match to take place in the month, hitting 106 after scoring 24 in the first innings versus Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay.

He fell just short of his second List A century when he was out for 91 versus Lancashire in the Royal London One-Day Cup before hitting 38 in the following fixture.

Hamish Rutherford

The explosive left-hander played an important role in Derbyshire’s white ball fixtures during July, reguarly getting his side off to a good start opening the batting in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Rutherford finished as the Club’s highest run-scorer in the Twenty20 season, with 343 runs at and average of over 30, including two half-centuries.

During July, Rutherford hit four scores above 40 in white ball cricket, in addition to a 45 in the one first-class fixture the team played.
