Gary Wilson has been named in Ireland’s squad for the Desert T20 tournament in the UAE in January.
Ireland have selected a 14-man squad for the competition in which eight associate countries are playing, in Dubai from 14 January to 20 January.
Afghanistan, Scotland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Oman, Namibia and the UAE are the other teams taking part.
The Ireland selectors have opted to take only one wicketkeeper for the competition, selecting Wilson, who signed for Derbyshire in September on a three-year deal, as their preferred choice.
Head Coach, John Bracewell said: “We felt that one keeper would be enough with just four games scheduled so the selectors have gone with Gary for the event.”
The fixtures and dates for the competition will be announced by hosts Emirates Cricket Board in due course.
