Time is running out on the chance to star as a volunteer on the world stage at this year’s ICC Women’s World Cup, with applications set to close a week today on Monday 16 January.

  • Volunteering opportunities at ICC Women’s World Cup
  • People from Derby encouraged to sign up to become a Cricketeer
  • Only one week left to apply via icc-cricket.com/cricketeers

This summer offers the opportunity to join an elite band of volunteers, the Cricketeers, who will be the public face of the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup.

For the first time in cricket history England and Wales will host two major ICC global events and the Cricketeers will be at the centre of that action. The Cricketeer programme will unite communities over two months of exciting tournament cricket.

Steve Elworthy, Director of both tournaments, said: “Volunteers will play a vital role in ensuring that the ICC Champions Trophy and ICC Women’s World Cup are a huge success.

“Cricket has a strong tradition of volunteering in England and Wales, so we have seen the contribution they make from grassroots up to international tournaments.

“We have already had a great response to our call for Cricketeers, including both people that have volunteered previously and first timers, but we still need others to get involved. Don’t miss your chance to play a key role in helping us deliver two months of exciting cricket in June and July this year.”

From spectator services to accreditation, the successful candidates will gain a unique experience working across key areas of two global sporting events.

To become a Cricketeer apply before the closing date which is next Monday (16 January) here: www.icc-cricket.com/cricketeers.

The ICC Champions Trophy will be played at Cardiff, Edgbaston and The Oval between 1-18 June 2017 and the ICC Women’s World Cup will be staged from 26 June at Bristol, Derby, Leicester and Taunton with the final at Lord’s on July 23.
