Derbyshire Second XI claimed victory over Notts Outlaws by 15 runs in the One-Day Trophy fixture at Denby, with Ben Slater top scoring with 139 not out.
A strong Notts Second XI, which included internationals Brendan Taylor and Harry Gurney, won the toss and decided to bowl.
Opener Charlie Macdonell hitting 36 before being caught by Taylor from the bowling of Brett Hutton (1-57). Slater and Tom Wood shared an 83-run partnership before Gurney (1-52) made the breakthrough, Wood caught by wicketkeeper Tom Moores for 47.
Harvey Hosein joined Slater and added an unbeaten 64 as Derbyshire posted 309-2 from their 50 overs.
Ben Cotton (2-57) claimed the first wicket of the Notts innings as opening batsman Moores was caught by Slater for 6. Cotton soon had his second, Louis Kimber caught by Callum Brodrick for 20.
Taylor went without scoring, bowled by Tom Taylor (2-66). Billy Root added 40 before Rob Hemmings picked up his wicket, the top-order batsman caught by Matt Critchley.
Dominic Brown was out for 11, stumped by Hosein off Critchley (1-47), before the visitors rebuilt nicely as Tom Keast (66 not out) and Hutton shared a 129-run stand.
Taylor broke the partnership and took his second wicket, Hutton out for 119. Ben Kitt hit 10 not out as Notts finished on 294-6 falling short as Derbyshire claimed victory.
The Second XI are next in action against Northants in a One-Day Trophy fixture at Denby CC on 25 April.
