Derbyshire held its annual Golf Day, in association with e-commerce website and online marketing specialists Purpose Media, at Morley Hayes on Tuesday 6 June.

In blustery conditions, the winners of the overall team prize were the University of Derby, with Craig Keegan, John McGrath, Mark Lamb and Derbyshire Vice-Captain Gary Wilson making up their quartet.

Runners up were Purpose Media, with Wayne Madsen in their team, and Smith Partnership finished a close third, boosted by a solid round from Daryn Smit.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club Chariman, Ian Morgan, conducted the evening presentations which saw Madsen win the longest drive contest, whilst Wilson picked up the closest to the pin accolade on the sixth hole.

Colin Austin of East Midlands Demolition was nearest to the pin on the 12th, with Ian Dale of Derwent Valley Construction closest on the 16th.

The OKI team of Darren Maxey, Lachen Lemzaouni, Howard Gipson and Alex Hughes won the yellow ball competition, scoring the highest number of points out of the four teams which kept the ball on the full round.

Thank you to Purpose Media and all other sponsors for their support of the event.
