Pupils from a local primary school will be attending Derby’s ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 Celebration event courtesy of EKV Design.

Held today in Derby Market Place, the event marks the start of the ICC Women’s World Cup, which begins on Saturday, and features cricket stars, live music, cricket-themed activities and face painting.

The first part of the day is specially designed for invited local schools, including Mickleover Primary School who will be in attendance after EKV stepped in to sponsor their transport.

Mickleover Primary have been using EKV Design’s Facilities Management (FM) service for over six years, which covers their health and safety advice, risk management, procurement, space planning and property & asset management.

Jonathan Naden, EKV’s Managing Director, said: “We were contacted by Derbyshire County Cricket Club who were looking to provide as many children as possible with a taste of Women’s World Cup cricket in Derby.

“One of the best ways of supporting the children is to help with the cost of coach transport and we are absolutely delighted to be able to help a long-standing client. Having such a global event in the city, including a semi-final, is fantastic.”

Any business or personal donors wanting to support more schools to have an opportunity to experience ICC Women’s World Cup in Derby, please contact Jimmy Drew on 01332 388 121 or email [email protected].

Tickets are still available for all eight ICC Women’s World Cup games in Derby, starting with the opener between England and India on Saturday.
