A final 200 tickets will go on sale at 6pm today (Thursday) for the ICC Women’s World Cup opener between England and India this Saturday (24 June).
Demand has been extremely high for the opening fixture of the global tournament and the last 200 tickets have now been released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and these are also expected to go quickly.
Chief Executive, Simon Storey said: “It’s an honour to be hosting the opening game of this prestigious world tournament, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the interest we have received.
“Every time we have released tickets they have sold out within days, with supporters keen to experience the opening ceremony and first match, featuring hosts England.
“To satisfy demand, we have now sourced additional seating to allow us to release a final allocation of 200 tickets, and we are expecting these to sell out within hours.
“The ICC Women’s World Cup will be a fantastic event for the city of Derby, with thousands of sports fans, players, officials and media arriving in the city.
“With all games to be broadcast live to a huge worldwide audience, it will only build on Derby’s reputation as a great place to live, work and as a great destination for visitors from across the world.”
Tickets are available for all eight games at Derby, which also includes India vs Pakistan, England vs New Zealand and a Semi Final.
Prices start at £10 for adults, £5 for students (aged between 17 and 23) and £2 for under-16s.
