The NatWest T20 Blast match versus Leicestershire Foxes on Sunday 30 July at The 3aaa County Ground will be held in support of Wayne Madsen Testimonial 2017.
The Falcons’ Family Fixture, to which Under 16s go free, gets underway at 2.30pm and a raffle will take place on the day for Wayne’s testimonial, with prizes including a bat signed by Joe Root.
The match is last of three NatWest T20 Blast fixtures at The 3aaa County Ground this week.
The run of games began with a 35-run victory over Lancashire Lightning in front of over 3,500 spectators in Derby, before the Falcons host reigning champions Northants Steelbacks on Friday 28 July; 7pm start and conclude the busy week with the visit of Leicestershire Foxes on Sunday.
Now in his ninth year with the Club, Madsen has made a terrific start to the NatWest T20 Blast, hitting 306 runs at an average of 61 and taking seven wickets. He is currently the competition’s leading run scorer.
Madsen has been a consistent scorer for the county since making his debut in 2009, leading them to the County Championship Division Two title in his first season as skipper in 2012. After hitting over 12,500 runs in all formats for the Club, Madsen has now been rewarded with a testimonial year in 2017.
A number of fundraising activities and events have already taken place and a host more are to come, with a share of the money raised going to Madsen’s three nominated charities, the PCA Benevolent Fund, Lungisisa Indela Village, and the Derby Hospitals Charity.
