Local law firms to support T20:20:20 Walkathon

Four law firms in Derby are set to don their walking shoes in support of Cricket Derbyshire Foundation’s T20:20:20 Walkathon from Derby to Nottingham on Friday 21 July.

Geldards, Flint Bishop Solicitors and Nelsons Solicitors, all of which are leading law firms across the city and beyond, have all entered groups to take part in the 20 mile walkathon, in aid of raising money for the community projects run by the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation.

They will be joined by Smith Partnership Solicitors who have sponsored the various water stations along the 20 mile route from Derby to Nottingham, as well as entered a team for the walkathon.

Fundraisers will walk the 20 miles from The 3aaa County Ground, Derby, to Trent Bridge, Nottingham, in time for the big Twenty20 fixture between Notts Outlaws and Derbyshire Falcons.

All walkers will receive one adult ticket to the match at Trent Bridge, plus a walkathon t-shirt and medal, an event pack and a coach back to Derby after the match.

It’s easy to sign up and support the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation deliver community projects benefiting health, education and social inclusion across Derbyshire.

Simon Waterfield, Partner at Nelsons Solicitors, is part of the Nelsons team participating in the sponsored walk. He said: “The Cricket Derbyshire Foundation is an excellent charity which delivers a variety of community projects for young people across the County.

“Nelsons are delighted to be taking part in the sponsored walk to Nottingham which will be a great opportunity for the local community to come together and raise money to support the work that the foundation does.”

Flint Bishop Solicitors added: “Flint Bishop is very pleased to be joining fellow Derby businesses on the sponsored walkathon in aid of the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation.

Our team jumped at the chance to get involved with the 20 mile challenge coupled with an enjoyable evening of Twenty20 cricket action.

I’m sure there will be a few sore feet the following day but a small price to pay to help raise awareness and much needed funds for such a great cause.”
