Derbyshire Falcons face Hampshire at The 3aaa County Ground on Tuesday in the quarter-finals of NatWest T20 Blast – we take a look at the opposition.

The Falcons will be looking to progress to their first ever Natwest T20 Blast finals day and Gary Wilson’s men will need to be weary of a strong Hampshire side who finished third in the South Group.

Captain and Hampshire leading run-scorer James Vince hit 431 runs in the group stages. He was the competition’s top-scorer in 2015 with 710 and has replicated this good form so far this campaign. The 26-year-old is likely to open with wicketkeeper-batsman Calvin Dickinson.

Tom Alsop and overseas signing, Australia batsman George Bailey, make up the top four with Sean Ervine and Gareth Berg adding to the middle order.

Chris Wood and former South Africa international Kyle Abbott lead a strong seam attack whilst Liam Dawson and Shahid Afridi offer spin options. They are also boosted by the return of England international and leading wicket-taker Mason Crane, who has claimed 15 wickets in 11 matches.

Top order batsman Rilee Rossouw and seam bowler Reece Topley are currently recovering from injuries and are likely to miss the fixture.

See the Falcons take on Hampshire in the home quarter-final at The 3aaa County Ground on Tuesday as Derbyshire hunt for a space at Edgbaston.
