VIDEO: Henry on Vikings and Outlaws clashes

Wednesday 2nd August 2017
Written by Danny Painter

Matt Henry took 3-18 in front of a good crowd against Leicestershire Foxes and the New Zealand pace bowler wants to see more fan support in Derby for the visit of Notts Outlaws on Friday 4 August; 7pm start.

Derbyshire have 11 points in the NatWest T20 Blast North Group and will be looking to complete the double over Yorkshire Vikings on Thursday, with Henry praising both the batting and bowling units heading into the fixture.

He said: “I think we’re making good inroads and playing well as a group, slowly game by game we’re getting better. As a bowling unit we’re gelling well and I think the game against Leicestershire was a good example of that.

“The batters have been unbelievable in this whole tournament, they’ve been really consistent and played a really good brand of cricket. The exciting thing for us is different people stepping up at different times.”

On the back of the trip to Headingley on Thursday comes the visit of Notts Outlaws to The 3aaa County Ground on Friday and Henry praised the local support in Derby and wants to see another good turnout for the important clash.

The 25-year-old added: “It will be fantastic to have them back here at home. We’ve shown that we’re very tough to beat at home.

“Hopefully we can keep that momentum going forward and having the home crowd behind us is always good. The crowds so far have been brilliant and they’ve all been behind us.”

Derbyshire will be looking for revenge on Friday night at The 3aaa County Ground, and tickets are still available. Supporters can save £4 by purchasing their matchday tickets in advance of the day of the game, while further discounts are available for group bookings of 10+.
