Batsman Callum Brodrick has signed a two-year professional contract with Derbyshire, committing him to the Club until the end of 2019.

The Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby graduate made his first-team debut in 2017, going on to make six Twenty20 and one first-class appearance.

The 19-year-old impressed on his first-class debut in the Bell & Co Tour Match against West Indies, top scoring with 52 as the three-day match ended in a draw.

Development Coach, Mal Loye said: “Callum is a talented local lad who has come through the Cricket Derbyshire pathway.

“He has worked incredibly hard over the last 18 months and has demonstrated a real hunger to learn and improve his game.

“He has been rewarded with opportunities in the first-team this summer and he has impressed all with his attitude, work ethic and ability. We look forward to seeing Callum continue his development.”
