Tony Palladino has been rewarded for his services to Derbyshire with a Testimonial Year in 2018.

The 34-year-old was an integral part of the County Championship Division Two winning side in 2012, claiming 56 wickets at an average of 25 and a memorable hat-trick at Grace Road.

It was a second successive year he had recorded 50 first-class wickets after picking up 52 in his debut season with the Club in 2011.

In seven seasons with Derbyshire, the paceman has taken 269 first-class wickets at an average of 28, with 11 five-wicket hauls and best figures of 7-53.

In total, Palladino has claimed 296 wickets in 122 games for Derbyshire across all forms.

Chairman, Ian Morgan said: “Tony has been a great servant for Derbyshire and his contributions with bat, ball and most recently as bowling coach are a testament to his hard work.

“He has been a vital part of the successes in recent years, most notably the County Championship Division Two title win in 2012. On behalf of the Club, I am delighted to see Tony get this opportunity and I wish him all the best both on and off the field in 2018.”

Palladino added: “It is a humbling moment to be offered a testimonial year and I would like to thank the Club for the opportunity.

“Since arriving in 2011, I have loved being part of the Club and everyone associated with it, from the players and support staff, to sponsors, Members and supporters.

“I’m extremely excited about next year, and look forward to contributing to the success of the Club and making 2018 a successful and memorable year both on and off the field.”
