All-rounder Luis Reece says he is looking forward to seeing the experienced Ravi Rampaul leading the Derbyshire bowling attack with Hardus Viljoen in 2018.
Reece, who is set to represent Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 tournament in November, is looking forward to Rampaul joining the squad over the winter.
He said: “I’m looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the squad. He is a high calibre player with plenty of international experience, so we hope he can bring that with him, especially with the new ball.
“He gives us a bit more of a potent attack and a new ball partnership with the likes of Hardus [Viljoen] and Will [Davis] is very exciting.
“We’ve got a lot of seamers in our squad and there’s no reason why the young players can’t learn things from the experienced bowlers and push the squad forward throughout the season and take spots when they get the chance.
“We had a good T20 campaign last season, but perhaps our bowling was an area we can improve on. Having Ravi’s skill set both at the start and end of an innings will help us massively.”
Derbyshire has announced that Membership prices remain frozen for the 2018 season and Reece hopes to see more great support at The 3aaa County Ground next summer.
The all-rounder added: “The supporters should see it as a reward for their loyalty, particularly in the T20 campaign.
“They came in and packed the place out and it was fantastic. The lads loved having this big support cheering us on and hopefully we can keep rewarding them out on the field and get more wins in 2018.”
Price freeze for 2018. Club Membership will once again offer one great value price for all in 2018. Join today for only £139, if purchased before 1st February Early Bird deadline.
