Luis Reece hit an unbeaten 157 and Duanne Olivier claimed 2-25 as Derbyshire put themselves in a good position heading into the final day versus Middlesex at The 3aaa County Ground.
Reece’s opening stand of 219 with Ben Slater (99) gave the hosts the platform to push on and declare shortly after tea with the score on 333-3, setting Middlesex 442 to win.
Olivier took two late wickets, whilst Hardus Viljoen claimed one, to leave Derbyshire needing seven wickets on the final day as Middlesex chase a further 356 runs to win.
