With just 10 weeks to go until the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation (CDF) T20 Walkathon, Trustee Rachel Hudson says she has been blown away by the huge amount of interest from people for this year’s Walkathon.
The T20 Walkathon returns for a second year and will see fundraisers walk 20 miles from Trent Bridge to The 3aaa County Ground in time for the big Vitality Blast derby between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws (7pm start, approx. 9.45pm finish).
All walkers will receive bus travel to Trent Bridge, donated by Trent Barton, for the start of the walk, a sponsored walk t-shirt and an event pack. The registration fee, of £25, also includes safety stewards for the journey, ticket for the Vitality Blast match and on arrival in Derby a hog roast roll and complimentary drink, courtesy of Greene King.
All proceeds raised will go to the CDF (Charity No. 1155801) and will support the delivery of a range of community projects to young people across the county, using the power of sport.
Hudson said: “Our first Walkathon in 2017 was extremely popular and over 50 walkers successfully completed the 20-mile route along the canal and River Trent to Nottingham.
“This year it will be bigger and better and with the help of Trent Barton who will provide buses in the morning, we’re turning the route around. Being able to start in Nottingham means we can arrive in Derby to watch the Vitality Blast match against Notts Outlaws at The 3aaa County Ground.”
