Wednesday 30th May 2018
Written by Danny Painter

Day Two of the Second XI Championship match against Northamptonshire has been abandoned due to overnight rain at The County Ground.

Heavy overnight rain left areas of the outfit unfit for play on Day Two and the umpires abandoned the day’s play following a morning inspection.

Harvey Hosein hit 62 from 84 balls on the opening day to help Derbyshire to a score of 219, before Charlie Hartley struck with an early wicket to reduce the hosts to 8-1 after 4.5 overs.

The third and final day is due to get underway tomorrow at 11.00am, if conditions permit.
