Alfreton-based Rock Fall UK has agreed to sponsor the medals for Cricket Derbyshire Foundation (CDF) T20 Walkathon from Nottingham to Derby on Friday 13 July.

Rock Fall, who are experts in waterproof and fully non-metallic safety footwear, put together using pioneering components that ensure the wearer stays protected in the most demanding conditions, have thrown their support behind the sponsored walkathon for a second straight year.

The T20 Walkathon will see fundraisers walk 20 miles from Trent Bridge, Nottingham, to The 3aaa County Ground, Derby, on Friday 13 July ahead of the Vitality Blast derby between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws (7pm start, approx. 9.45pm finish).

All walkers will receive bus travel to Trent Bridge, donated by Trent Barton, for the start of the walk, a sponsored walk t-shirt and an event pack. The registration fee, of £25, also includes safety stewards for the journey, ticket for the Vitality Blast match and on arrival in Derby a hog roast roll and complimentary drink, courtesy of Greene King.

All proceeds raised will go to the CDF (Charity No. 1155801) and will support the delivery of a range of community projects to young people across the county, using the power of sport.

Rock Fall UK Marketing Manager, Paul Wilson said: “For us it was an absolute no brainer to support the T20 Walkathon again this year. The event was such a big success last year and to hear that it has grown so much this year is so exciting.

“It is an innovative event that clearly appeals to a large proportion of the Derby Business Community. The Cricket Derbyshire Foundation does some wonderful work in the area, and I feel sport is a great catalyst for collaboration and delivering community projects.

“We hope everyone has a fantastic day, and of course, for a Derbyshire win in the evening.”
