Derbyshire took seven wickets on the final day, but no play on Day Two meant their Second XI Championship match away to Northamptonshire ended in a draw.
Resuming the final day on 8-1, Northamptonshire were soon two down as Charlie Hartley (2-34) claimed his second to reduce the hosts to 32-2.
Hasan Azad rebuilt for Northamptonshire in the face of some tight bowling from Hartley and Will Davis. But wickets continued to fall at the other end and the hosts were soon 103-5, with no batsman able to stay with the solid Azad.
When the opener was eventually out to Alfie Gleadall (1-38), caught behind for 59, Northamptonshire slipped to 120-6 and their chances of forcing a result faded.
Spinner Matthew Sonczak came into the attack and removed two further wickets, before the two captains shook hands on the inevitable draw with the score 169-8, and Northamptonshire trailing Derbyshire’s first innings total by 50 runs.
