Touring Aboriginal sides come to The 3aaa County Ground on Sunday 10 June, 150 years on from their historic first tour of Derbyshire in 1868.

The two Twenty20 matches, seeing men’s and women’s Aboriginal squads take on Derbyshire Representative XIs, will be free to enter, with the first game getting underway at 11am.

Gates at The 3aaa County Ground will open at 10am. While entry is free, there is a suggested donation to the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation of £3 for adults and £1 for juniors to help support ongoing  projects to engage, inspire and motivate individuals to achieve and live positive and healthy lifestyles. Parking will be available, priced at £3.

See some of the world’s most explosive Twenty20 players in action, including D’Arcy Short and Dan Christian who are set to feature in the day’s showpiece event.

The touring Aboriginals first played a South Derbyshire XI in fixture in Derby, as part of the original tour which took place between May and October in 1868.

In 1868, 13 Aboriginal players made the trip to the UK. In 2018, the 13 male players travelling will proudly represent one of those pioneers each on tour by displaying their name on the back of their uniform. The female squad will wear their own names on their back, being pioneers as the first female Indigenous team to tour the UK.
