Companies and organisations across Derbyshire have the opportunity for members of staff to take part in a unique team building event with the launch of the Rock Fall Team Challenge.

On Friday 13 July, a group of walkers will be striding out as part of the T20 Walkathon to walk the 20 miles from Trent Bridge, Nottingham, to The 3aaa County Ground, Derby, ahead of the Vitality Blast derby between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws (7pm start, approx. 9.45pm finish).

Companies are invited to submit one or more teams of four staff members to represent them in the Rock Fall Team Challenge.

All it takes to participate is four walkers and raise £500 to be crowned a Rock Fall Trophy winner. There will be also be a Rock Fall Champions Trophy for the team who raises the highest amount of money and the Rock Fall Velocity Trophy for the team where all four walkers complete the walk first.

Team Challenge walkers will receive bus travel to Trent Bridge, donated by Trent Barton, for the start of the walk, a sponsored walk t-shirt and an event pack.

The registration fee, of £100 per team of four, also includes safety stewards for the journey, ticket for the Vitality Blast match and on arrival in Derby a hog roast roll and complimentary drink, courtesy of Greene King.

The T20 Walkathon is supported by official community partners, Smith Partnership, and all proceeds raised will go to the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation (Charity No. 1155801) and will support the delivery of a range of community projects to young people across the county, using the power of sport.

CDF Project Manager, Aidan Wheeler said: “Last year we had a number of small groups from companies across the county who took part in the walk. They all told us that competing the challenge together was a brilliant way of team building and raising money for a good cause at the same time.

“We are delighted that Rock Fall are supporting our Team Challenge Trophy and look forward to presenting Trophies when teams reach The 3aaa County Ground for the Vitality Blast match versus Notts Outlaws.”
