Gary Wilson and Harvey Hosein hit half-centuries as 13 wickets fell on Day One of the Specsavers County Championship match with Northamptonshire at Queen’s Park.
Wilson’s 66 was the top-score on an entertaining opening day, whilst Hosein hit 58 as the pair guided Derbyshire to 260 all out after earlier being 21-3.
Tony Palladino (2-12) claimed two Northamptonshire wickets and Hardus Viljoen picked up one as the visitors closed on 74-3, trailing Derbyshire by 186 runs.
