Calum MacLeod hit 104 and there was a half-century from Wayne Madsen and four wickets for Alex Hughes as Derbyshire ran out 31-run winners over Northants Steelbacks at Wantage Road.
The Falcons got off to a flyer in their innings, with 29 from the returning Billy Godleman, followed by a 126-run stand between MacLeod and Madsen (50 not out) as Derbyshire posted 211-2 from their 20 overs.
Career-best figures of 4-42 from Hughes, as well as two each for Lockie Ferguson (2-33) and Hardus Viljoen (2-29) helped Derbyshire dismiss the hosts for 180 to claim a 31-run victory and a first win in the competition.
