Supporters can now vote for the Showcase Cinema de Lux Player of the Month for June.

Each month this season, supporters can cast their vote for their Player of the Month, with voting taking place on the Club’s official Twitter account; @DerbyshireCCC.

For the month of June, we have selected four nominees; Tony Palladino, Wayne Madsen, Duanne Olivier and Matt Critchley.

The month included three Specsavers County Championship fixtures and three Royal London One-Day Cup matches.

Player of the Month: June Nominees

Tony Palladino

The 35-year-old took 12 wickets in his three Specsavers County Championship appearances in June, whilst contributing valuable runs with the bat.

An experienced campaigner, Palladino was instrumental in Derbyshire’s draw with Glamorgan at Swansea. He claimed seven wickets in the match, including a 12th five-wicket haul for Derbyshire.

He then batted for almost two hours for his unbeaten 30 to save the game for Derbyshire in a last wicket stand with Duanne Olivier.

Wayne Madsen

The all-format player scored runs in both the red and white ball formats in June, with five scores of 35 or more and a top-score of 80 in the first innings against Leicestershire at The 3aaa County Ground.

The 34-year old now has 578 first-class runs to his name this summer, at an average of 44.46 and a high-score of 144

He also picked up two wickets in the three Royal London One-Day Cup matches and with a combined economy rate of 4.44 runs per over.

Duanne Olivier

Before returning to South Africa, Duanne Olivier topped the Derbyshire wicket-taking table in both red and white ball cricket.

He rounded off the Royal London One-Day Cup campaign at the end of the month with 13 wickets at an average of 19 and an economy rate under five runs per over.

The tall quick was also prolific in the Specsavers County Championship, returning 31 wickets at an average of 27.48, including 15 wickets picked up in the three matches in June.

Matt Critchley

The 21-year-old all-rounder hit a fine 86 in the second innings against Leicestershire at The 3aaa County Ground last week, his third half-century of the first-class summer.

He has also had further scores of 54 not out, 38 and 31 in the Specsavers County Championship in June to take his first-class average this summer to 36.45.

Critchley has also made useful contributions with the ball throughout June, including 1-31 in the Royal London One-Day Cup victory over Northamptonshire.
