Written by Danny Painter

Tony Palladino claimed his 13th five-wicket haul for Derbyshire, before Billy Godleman and Wayne Madsen both hit half-centuries on an improved Day Two for the hosts versus Kent at The 3aaa County Ground.

Palladino claimed three wickets in the day to finish with 5-113 in the innings, but scores for Grant Stewart (85) and Matt Henry (81) helped Kent post a commanding 561 in their first innings.

The hosts responded well in the final two sessions of the day, with debutant Tom Lace, on loan from Middlesex, hitting 40 before both Godleman and Madsen passed 50, as Derbyshire closed on 210-2.
