Conners signs two-year deal
Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby graduate, Sam Conners (pictured), signed his first professional deal with the Club last week.
A 19-year-old quick bowler, who currently plays for Ockbrook & Borrowash, Conners joins fellow Academy graduates James Taylor and Alfie Gleadall in signing a professional contract with Derbyshire.
Derbyshire remembers
Each year, Derbyshire County Cricket Club honours those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts by the laying of wreaths in a variety of locations around the county.
Sunday 11 November marked 100 years since the end of the First World War. During the war, six Derbyshire cricketers, and one player expected to play for the county in 1915, lost their lives.
We will remember them.
Cricket vs Football: A Question of Sport
Cricket vs Football: A Question of Sport returns on Thursday 15 November as Derbyshire County Cricket Club and Derby County teams go head-to-head in a quiz similar to the popular TV show.
The event, which raises funds for the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation (Registered Charity No: 1155801), offers an evening of entertainment with teams featuring former Derby County FC players Roy McFarland and Craig Ramage, as well as Kevin Dean and BBC Radio Derby cricket commentator, Dave Fletcher, among the cricket representatives.
