Vikram Banerjee, Director of Strategy at the England and Wales Cricket Board, will be guest speaker at the Derbyshire Cricket Society Lunch on Thursday 29 November.

Banerjee occupies a pivotal role with the ECB at an exciting time for cricket in this country. Some of the key issues include the new broadcasting deal, the expansion of women’s cricket, the 2019 World Cup, and the new competition starting in 2020.

A specialist left arm spinner, Banerjee played first-class cricket for Cambridge University, and then for Gloucestershire from 2006 until 2011, followed by Minor Counties cricket with Buckinghamshire.

He took 97 first-class wickets during his playing career, and was particularly effective in the limited over formats.

In his post-playing career, Banerjee made rapid strides in the business world following the completion of a MBA at Harvard Business School.

He became Strategy Manager for Whitbread with particular responsibility for Premier Inns, before joining the ECB in his present role.

Banerjee will speak at the Derbyshire Cricket Society Lunch on Thursday 29 November in the Pattonair Legends Lounge of the Elite Performance Centre, starting at 12pm. The deadline for booking is Thursday 22 November.
