In the latest edition of our #WeAreDerbyshire Stories feature, we hear from former bowler Colin Tunnicliffe about a special moment in 1981 at Lord’s.
The Cricket Derbyshire Foundation’s Oral History of Cricket in Derbyshire project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has recorded recollections from almost 200 participants.
These include former and current players, and focused on audio-visual reminiscences about cricket at every level within the county, from grassroots to the Test arena.
It is this fabric of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters which all contribute greatly to make up cricket in Derbyshire.
In this fourth edition, Tunnicliffe discusses Derbyshire’s NatWest Trophy victory in 1981, for which he was at the crease when Derbyshire ended a 45-year wait for silverware.
