Australia international Kane Richardson has joined Derbyshire for the whole of this summer’s Vitality Blast campaign.
The fierce quick has become a renowned white-ball specialist and featured in multiple twenty-over tournaments around the world, while he has also been capped 27 times for his country in limited overs matches. We take a look at his career in numbers.
2019 – This year has been a successful one so far for Richardson. He was the leading-wicket taker in the Big Bash League with 24 at an average under 18 as his Melbourne Renegades side lifted the title in February.
107 – In his twenty-over career to date, the 28-year-old has taken over 100 wickets in 90 matches at an average of 24.41.
4-22 – The Australian’s best bowling figures in the shortest format came against Sydney Thunder in the 2017/2018 Big Bash League, when he took 4-22 in his four overs.
35 – An energetic performer on the field, he has shown he is more than just an aggressive fast bowler, and has taken 35 catches in his T20 career.
45 – As well as his wicket-taking abilities, Richardson is capable of adding valuable lower-order runs; he has notched over 250 runs in twenty-over matches, including a top-score of 45.
6 – The right-arm seamer has claimed six five-wicket hauls in white-ball cricket, including a standout performance for Australia in 2016 when he took figures of 5-68 against India.
2010 – He has been a part of the Australia international set-up for over nine years and top-scored with 44 in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup final to inspire them to victory.
$700,000 – Richardson made headlines in 2013 as he became the third-highest priced player when Pune Warriors bought him for $700,000 ahead of the Indian Premier League campaign.
