Steve Kirby is excited for the season to start after the Derbyshire squad completed a successful pre-season tour to Desert Springs Resort.
Assistant & Bowling Coach Kirby was impressed with the team’s togetherness and is pleased with the progress that the whole squad is making ahead of the season’s curtain-raiser against Durham on Friday 5 April.
He said: “It has been absolutely superb, the lads have bought in brilliantly well. I didn’t realise how tight-knit a team they were.
“It’s been fantastic to get to know everybody a bit more outdoors and get the whole squad back together.
“Obviously, we’ve been indoors quite a lot so it’s good to be getting out on grass wickets and the facilities here have been superb.
“The bowlers have got their loads up and the batters have got some great time out in the middle.
“One person that has really impressed me with bat and ball is Anuj Dal but if we go all the way through the group, I think it’s going to be a really good season.”
