Twenty20 Head Coach, Dominic Cork, is pleased with his team’s performance in an opening round Vitality Blast win over Yorkshire at Chesterfield.
Mark Watt claimed 4-19 on his Twenty20 debut for the club, while Billy Godleman batted throughout the chase, compiling 70 in a five-wicket win at a sold-out Queen’s Park.
Cork praised the two standout performers, while highlighting a team effort in preparation for the fixture and a win which the supporters deserve.
He said: “The guys worked really hard today and worked hard in the practice games last week. I’m really pleased for the guys.
“Mark Watt was excellent and Billy Godleman led the team really well with his performance with the bat.
“I wouldn’t say it was 100 per cent, the guys realise there are areas of improvement. But to beat a Yorkshire side like this here today is fantastic, not just for the players and myself, but for this crowd which has turned up today.”
