Despite a spirited last-wicket partnership between Fynn Hudson-Prentice and Ravi Rampaul, Derbyshire were beaten by Northamptonshire at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield.
The all-rounder scored an unbeaten 26, while Rampaul smashed a quickfire 20 to whittle away at the required runs needed, but the visitors secured a 72-run victory on Day Three.
Derbyshire are currently sixth in the Specsavers County Championship Division Two heading into their Vitality Blast campaign, which begins against Yorkshire on Saturday.
