Pre-Match Talk

Leus du Plooy says that the Falcons are calm ahead of their Vitality Blast quarter-final against Gloucestershire on Saturday (7pm start).

Derbyshire claimed seven victories in the north group to secure a place in the last eight, with Dominic Cork’s side winning their last three matches.

The club has never made it to Finals Day, and du Plooy is aiming to make history with the Falcons this year.

“It’s unbelievable that we have got through to the quarter-finals, we are really stoked for that,” du Plooy said.

“It is quite a calm dressing room, which is good. I think when you are in finals, you need to have a calm attitude, so we are quietly confident.

“It’s so exciting for us, knowing we could do something that is ground-breaking for the club. The Vitality Blast has been awesome for us and we are going to try to do that for the supporters.”
