The Club is saddened by the news that one of Derbyshire’s long-standing Members, Terry Needham, has died at the age of 85.

Heritage Officer, David Griffin, commented: “Terry was a committed Life Member, and a lifelong supporter, with a genuine affection for the Club.

He had a lengthy, voluntary association with the Club, including a decade of service on the Derbyshire County Cricket Supporters Club Committee from 1973, which included a spell as Honorary Secretary between 1976 and 1981.

In 1981 he was elected to the Derbyshire County Cricket Club General Committee, remaining a member until 1987.

He was a keen cricket watcher who travelled regularly to away fixtures and even in his later years was a regular visitor to Derby.

Like many of the volunteers who worked tirelessly on behalf of the Club over several decades, Terry will be fondly remembered by many of our Members, staff and supporters, past and present.

Everyone connected with the Club would like to extend their sympathy to Terry’s friends and family.”
