Luis Reece is looking forward to beginning his winter preparations ahead of a historic 2020 with Derbyshire.
The all-rounder enjoyed his best year in a Derbyshire shirt in 2019, and signed a new deal with the club until the end of the 2023 season earlier this month.
He will now join up with Gosnells Cricket Club in Australia, where is he is captain and Assistant Head Coach, before returning to prepare for next season, which will take place in Derbyshire’s 150th year.
Reece is looking forward to playing his part in a special year for Derbyshire, and says that the squad are hungry to bring success to the club.
“It is a fantastic achievement for the club to reach 150 year,” Reece said.
“The main aim is to help us move forward as a club, and help to bring success to Derbyshire.
“In any format, it’s about winning trophies, and I think we can all agree that it has been too long since Derbyshire won a competition.
“Going forward, we want competition for places to further improve ourselves and to try to bring silverware back to this club, which it deserves.”
